I hate insulting other games, but I just can’t help myself, being a huge zombie fanatic.. I have both Left 4 Dead games, but that’s only because the trailers looked good. The gameplay is fun for awhile, but it gets really repetitive. Same with Dead Rising..None of these games are about survival. None of them are. Weapons aren’t scarce. In Dead Rising 2, you are way too overpowered. None of it is realistic. And zombies aren’t realistic either, but that’s not what I mean..
In a real zombie apocalypse, you wouldn’t pick up a heavy machine gun, and go all Arnold Schwarzenegger on every zombie you see. Not if you’re just a simple civilian. You wouldn’t even be killing zombies..You’d just be trying your best to AVOID them. It would be sheer terror. I don’t know everything, but I’m sick of these "28 day later", "Dawn of the Dead 2004" games..I finished reading The Zombie Survival Guide, by Max Brooks..Watch Night of the Living Dead all the time.
Are they ever going to make a game that isn’t a sheer frenzy of action, and gore? What about survival, like…Barricading yourself? I’m not trying to offend anyone, or start a big heated debate..
Yes, they are horror survival, but..Dead Space and Silent Hill:Shattered Memories? I found myself in a panicked frenzy. Especially playing Dead Space on hardcore! I was backing up into corners, I was shifting my eyes constantly from vent to vent, to watch out for necromorphs..Every single Necromorph that popped out scared the hell out of me…
Where are the games that allude to the actual Zombie stereotype? In Resident Evil, they’re all pumped up from a virus. In Dead Rising, they allude more to zombies, but they lack power greatly when compared to a regular survivor, (The strength should be balanced). None of it is challenging..None of it has you at the edge of your seat literally going "Oh my god oh my god oh my god!"
Not anybody can pick up an M16, and immediately no how it works. Not anyone can pick up a golf club and kill a zombie easily..Yes, I am being a bit exaggerant here but the reality of it is that..It requires strength. And you must be quick because the zombie can pull the golf club, and in result, pull you into its grasp..That is mentioned so much in Max Brooks Survival Guide.
I just wish there was a zombie game that wasn’t so overpowered =..Even Isaac Clarke isn’t overpowered.
I am really looking forward to Dead Island, but at the same time, I’m skeptical..
When you really compare the two, Left 4 dead and Modern Warfare 2 are the exact same game, except that the zombies act as melee, and they don’t have guns..
Perhaps I’m just being a little too critical.Division 9 was a canceled game. Many people wonder why it was canceled. As far as barricading, and such, this game is decent.
I’m not asking anyone to believe me, and I respect everyone elses thoughts, as you should respect mine, before some of you people go "Well, do you know how hard it would be?". Well, maybe that’s why in Dead Space, they have difficulty settings. And MAYBE you’ve just been spoiled by the idea that just ANYONE on this earth, albeit even a 12 year old boy could pick up a big heavy SAW, and just blast away 50 zombies running at him..
I just think it’s getting a bit ridiculous..
Plus, it would be fun to be in an apartment and have your locked door being smashed in by zombies, and then you have to quickly think in your head "Should I go this way or that way? What equipment should I take? What if I were to set a car alarm off? Maybe I’d be able to distract them, and run into that alley. I can smash that one zombies head easily with the bat, but I should knock it down, and save the energy for that bigger crowd of zombies"
