Getting through Map 1 of the custom campaign Silent Hill (BETA) on Expert Map 1 The Town Part 1 of 3

The First question is about Garry’s Mod. Is it possible to play it if the only "source game" you have is Left 4 Dead 2? Or do I need Half Life 2? The second question is about steam. If I buy Garry’s Mod, will i be able to play it on another computer without Buying it again? Im sure there is a manual or a FAQ or something but im just making sure.
